Totally disconnected

Those two words, precisely describe my relationship to what’s been going on in the world.

I just wanted to point that out with all the news from Hurricane Katrina, to John Roberts appointment to Chief Justice, to California legislators approving same-sex marriage, and GTY’s new podcast.. there has simply been way too much for me to catch up on and comment. I even have some cool links about ajax that I wanted to talk about.

Speaking of being disconnected, that’s exactly what I intended to do this past labor day weekend. We went camping with a few friends in Placerville to spend three nights hanging out, bike riding, fishing, eating smores, and eating lots of “apple” related food. It was a great weekend retreat.

As a young family, this is one of the new traditions that I feel we’ve established. KOA Kamping is not exactly “roughing-it” camping, but it is perfect for all our very young campers. Each year, we say that KOA camping prepares us for the real rough camping in the following year, but it seems that we move more and more away from real camping. This year we stayed in log cabins. Next year, our “camping trip” may consist of an RV rental!

So much to talk about and so little time, my blog is starting to creak with staleness so hopefully I’ll try to post something worth reading instead of this meandering post.
