The blog that suffers from Seinfeld syndrome
I wish there was more direction in my blog. Apparently the successful formula of Seinfeld’s “show about nothing” has not been working well on my blog. I’ve been looking at previous posts and I’m not sure if I want to comment on current events, personal events, biblical events, theological issues, or just goofy issues. My blog has truly become a pathetic mishmash of meandering posts. Sure I expected that as explained in my About Me link, but I’ve grown tired of this spaghetti noodle style of incoherent writing. Not that anybody reads this blog anyway, but how I wish I could find a clear direction.
Take for instance,, I want to talk about my new bike and my experience riding the streets of the south bay. I also want to comment on Madonna writing children’s books, hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the California bill on same-sex marriage, the uncertainty of possibly working for Oracle — as you can tell from that list alone that my thoughts are purely unbridled ramblings.
I wish I had the discipline and literary prowess of a Phil Johnson or Albert Mohler, but don’t we all! Both these men have excellent blogs that I try to read weekly. I would like to say that it is a little unfair that Phil Johnson has his own personal John MacArthur to invite to “guest blog” on his already excellent blog. What’s really uunfair is that PJ is already a very accessible theologian, lucid preacher, and clever web designer. Just take a look at the Pyro’s motif. I think it is so cool.. some guys just got it going on in so many areas.
I’m considering changing this blog altogether and directing comments and posts on particular issues that arise and are outside of me. My mind wanders on so many issues that getting a grip on them is proving to be embarrassingly difficult. One thing that I admire about Tim Challies site is he has blogged for almost 700 consecutive days! That by itself should receive some sort of blog award.
Stay tuned for possible changes to this site.
