Entering the Labor

I have less than 3 days before I leave for India! I’m so excited and look forward to what God will do in my short time there. As a side note to all my readers (all 2 of you), this entry will probably be my last entry until I arrive in Delhi. Once there, hopefully I will have time to send daily updates on http://lacson.name/category/missions.

The preparation has gone well and this past Sunday our church body moved me as they “laid hands” on me to send me off to do this labor of love. I am reminded that I am just one man falling in line an already very long line of other teachers who have gone to foreign lands to bring the glorious Gospel. I just want to be faithful in doing the task of teaching and preaching Christ and Him crucified, I leave the results to Him.

In that same vein, I am reminded also of the labor itself. Jesus said to the disciples regarding the pattern of laboring for the Lord – how we enter into another man’s labor:

For in this case the saying is true, `One sows and another reaps.’ I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor. – John 4:37-38

How wonderful that the Lord humbles us by reminding us of how laboring for Him is never a one-man enterprise!

Soli Deo Gloria!
