Valentine’s Day Getaway: Burj Al Arab

For all you married folks who want to take your honeys to a nice getaway — visit this 7-star hotel in Dubai.  Yup a 7-stars (I didn’t know there were hotels that go beyond 5)!

Here’s the headline for all you big-time rollers:

With your chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, discreet in-suite check in, private reception desk on every floor and a brigade of highly trained butlers who provide around-the-clock attention, you can be assured of a highly personalised service throughout your stay.

Here’s some shots of the rooms..

Check out this bathroom!

Wake up to this!

Feeling a little cold? Get cozy in your living room fireplace!

I love their FAQs:

Q. Are pets allowed in the hotel?
A. No, pets are not allowed

Q. Are all the gold fittings inside the hotel real?
A. Yes, the gold furnishings and fittings are original 24 carat gold leaf

On that note, your guess at the room rates is as good as mine!

    Yo!

That is too phat. I’ve heard that Dubai is the new hang out for the ultra-rich. It’s a neutral territory, and very catering to movie stars.

BTW, I’ve noticed you’ve changed your blog title. Didn’t like “Day in the Life” anymore?

about the blog title – A Day in the Life was just too cheese-wiz. i’m so unoriginal, just kept it simple. maybe you could help me come up with a better title? I love your blog’s title, “The Filter.” I know, my site will be called “The Grid.” :)

    Hey Man,

Your blog incorporates the gospel into technology, politics, life in general. How about a name that describes this phenomenon? Something techie- and not too “churchy.”

I was thinking…is there a term in Java/UNIX programming that you can use – maybe something with a double entendre….about putting life into perspective? I dunno…just a thought.
