Abortion Lawsuit: Pay close attention
A woman in Scotland is suing the doctors who failed to abort her child.
The surviving baby, Jayde, is now four. Her mother is claiming the damages for the “financial burden” of her upbringing.
In a landmark legal case, lawyers will argue that as a result of the failed termination, she suffered loss, injury and damage… and suffers “an impediment in her ability to obtain employment in consequence of her care for the child.”
As Albert Mohler always says, “reality is sometimes stranger than fantasy.” Now imagine this. Her daugther, Jayde is now four years old. The mother who has suffered “financial burden” foresees a time when she will tell the truth to this child saying:
I still don’t know if, or what, I am going to tell Jayde when the time comes. Maybe when she is nine or 10 I will sit her down and explain it to her — Stacy Dow
As father of two and one on the way, I cannot imagine at any level looking my child in the eye and explaining to her, “Lauren, you were a mistake. We wanted to terminate you so that you wouldn’t be a financial burden. I just thought you should know.”
Pregnant mothers, contemplating abortion need to hear the Gospel. As Christians, we are justifiably concerned with the moral maladies that people have, but the heart of the problem is that they cannot see the glory of God in Christ. Christians — you were at one point blind until YOU saw the glory of Christ. You were once blinded by satan to see the Light of the Gospel.
Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. (2Co 4:1-4)
The Gospel is Light. Paul parallels the Gospel as “knowledge” in vs 6 saying
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. (2Co 4:6)
God by His grace showed us this glorious Light of His Gospel through His Son. Stacy Dow needs to see that very same light that we were once blind to.
