Should you follow what the Bible tells or what Culture sells?
Interfaith Unity Church of Muesa, AZ believes that the way to get people to church is to give out iPods:
Lewis admits the idea of giving a prize away each week is new to the church, and maybe even “a little bit edgy,” but it is willing to go that route if it means getting more souls in seats, especially young ones.
The congregation has 85 adult and 35 youth members, but Lewis said the church is trying to grow.”We thought the shuffle idea was meeting young people, young adults and teenagers where they are, or maybe possibly a little ahead of them. . . . What we want to do is we want to let them know we are aware of what interests them, what their passion is and we want to be present to that, and we thought one of the ways to do that was to go electronic with it.”
