My sleeping disorder

I am the the product of the California public school system. As a member of that elite group, I can clearly recall those late nights of sleeping in, during summer break, until 11 or 12 in the morning after late nights of playing video games, watching movies, working on my car’s speaker system, or late night roller hockey. However the adjustment from the summer break back to the school schedule, as I remember it, wasn’t as tough as some students today are “experiencing.” Today, students who stay up late are “suffering” from a disorder known as delayed sleep phase syndrome. That’s right folks, its a disorder!! I should have been seeing a sleep therapist! I could have been valedictorian of my class, if only I was treated for my disorder. That’s why I didn’t get as high an SAT score that I should have!

Funny – I always thought it was pure laziness to sleep 10 hours during those summers that I wasted away. Yesterday’s vice is today’s disorder.

haha, good post. I knew I should have seen a doctor about not finishing college when I was younger. I’m so glad it isn’t because I was lazy!! What a relief.

  3. Yes, yes.. my conscious is finally clear – I wasn’t lazy I was just sick with a “disorder.”
