How far will you go to “save the planet?”

I’m probably coming in late on this story but meet the two women who are so adamant in saving the planet that they are willing to sterilize their bodies.  One woman went so far as to terminate a pregnancy and beg her doctor to terminate and sterlize during the abortion.  Consider one of the women, Toni Vernelli’s remarks:

“Having children is selfish. It’s all about maintaining your genetic line at the expense of the planet,” says Toni, 35.

“Every person who is born uses more food, more water, more land,more fossil fuels, more trees and produces more rubbish, morepollution, more greenhouse gases, and adds to the problem ofover-population.”

In debates and argumentation the phrase, “take something to its logical end” is often employed when de-constructing propositions by an opponent.  Here we have a case that literally takes “lowering the carbon footprint” to its logical end by murdering knowingly ending the life of aborting babies and preventing children from ever being born.

This position turns the Bible’s description of “children are a blessing from the Lord” (Psalm 127) to  “children are a curse to the earth.”
