Update on Mike Thompson

Latest update on Mike Thompson’s surgery which began at 7:00am today

Mike is out of surgery. The surgeon said that he was pleased with the outcome. They were able to remove the tumor, but were unable to get a few cancer cells which radiation will get. They are also sending tissue samples to Stanford for detailed analysis to determine the type of cancer he has. The surgeon was able to visualize Mike’s spinal cord and everything appeared intact and healthy, praise God. He mentioned yesterday that Mike can expect to be in the hospital for 4 days recovering. Then 3-4 weeks from now, radiation will begin. He did not mention chemotherapy.
