Hi Ai!

We miss you guys!

Yes this book was the exact one that Frank G assigned to us for Christology and it is very encouraging. He is a true pastor-teacher to present God's truth and make it so plain.

I know your visits will be few and far between but we still do miss you guys. Also congrats on another turkey in the oven!

Hi Pat,

I remember reading this book a long time ago when I took a Christology class @ GSTM. It's probably one of the most encouraging books I've ever read. I don't even think it's in print anymore. I remember when this class was offered again the following year, they had to remove this book from the curriculum because they were unable to purchase them from anywhere.

Anyway, we miss you, Lisa, & the kids. Hope we can come visit again some time.

Hi Deepa -

Thanks for visiting my blog! I think the comparison is God's love for His children compared to His love for those that are not His children.

Consider the following:

God has a universal love for all people.

God has a special discriminate love for those that are His children.

Not all the people in the world are God's children.

All people in the world are made in the image of God but to become a child of God, one must place their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

So your analogy of comparing one child to another is not the intention of Peter Lewis. Rather he's comparing the believer and the unbeliever, and how God's love applies to both.

"What mother loves the other children in the street as much as her own"

That isn't the right analogy. The question here is "what mother loves all her children equally?"
