Well its 7 days into the New Year and I have absolutely nothing to talk about. This is not the start I was hoping for in 2009. The only thing worth noting is that when I took a break from blogging, Facebook, twitter, and all non-essential Internet activity I found something precious. Time. The amount of time I would have spent writing on this blog or browsing through Facebook and updating twitter I found reading. In this case I read a short book on John Calvin. It was good to get lost in a book again and just read without looking for the next news headline, blog controversy, or twitter twit. Try it. Drop social networking for a time and read a book. A real one that’s bound with paper and written with real ink.

Oh Pat, if you only knew…you have to be careful of WHAT you’re reading or THAT will take up more time than FB, blogging, Twitter, etc. put together.
True dat Vange. How often do you find yourself telling yourself that you’ll check email only to find yourself doing everything but that? I suppose discipline and self-control are in order.
