Facebook Fever

With Facebook, blogging just seems so old-fashioned.  Why should I write anything on this blog and bother the world who doesn’t know me when I can write a note on my Facebook and bother people that do know me?!  For a little perspective I found Christine’s (aka Happy Slip) commentary spot on:

Facebook Fever!

  1. LOL!!! I just love Happy Slip! She cracks me up!

THAT is EXACTLY why I don’t Facebook.

  2. The whole “Social networking” set of applications like Facebook and MySpace are really geared to keep you on their network. Why? By keeping you on they prove to their investors that they have a growing and thriving user base. The potential to make money is unrealized so their price goes way up.

For example the Facebook CEO declined an offer from Google of $1Billion back in 2006!! Amazing.

That’s a classic post. Love the parallels of what pre-facebook status updates and notifications would be like!

  4. This was funny! I was on Facebook once upon a time, but all the quizzes and gifts and whatever else came at me got a little too overwhelming. Happy Slip conveyed that confusion perfectly! I like blogging better … blogging is (for lack of a better word) “quieter”.
