First and foremost I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Less interesting things about me are: I’m a tech-junkie, programmer, blogger newbie, and novice photographer. My reading interests include slashdot, Christian literature, theology, world news, faith, and enjoy listening and playing music. One joy of mine is serving at my local church in the college and career ministry. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where I am happily married and have two beautiful children.

Website

Originally this website was a place for me to post pictures and comments about current events with me and my family. However, as I’m learning to express myself (trust me I have a long way to go) through the written word, I decided to transform the site into more of an online journal. Some would call this a blog which is short for a weblog. What do I journal about? Well, anything really.. as I’ve mentioend in previous posts, journaling for me is a way of releasing mental frustration.

What’s up with the name?

Lacson is pronounced, “lack-sun.” A not-too-distant counsin of mine has a good explanation of how the name came to be. My uncle has even first hand accounts of some of these LACSON claims:

Hello Pat,
Jim’s legit. I heard the same from stories ” of old lore”(the Irish in me). I also heard that there were 2 brothers and a sister Son Lak or Sun Lak that came from mainland China to the islands I don’t really know when. One brother stayed in Luzon, hence the Lacsons of Cavite and Pampanga. The sister and the other brother sailed to the Visayas Islands (Panay and Negros) and that’s where our roots originated.

You, Patrick xxxxx Lacson [are] the great grandchild of the notoriously hyperlibidoed(hornytos) Rosendo Lacson. I think (and am not sure) he was a man of the law, either a lawyer or judge back then and was very influential that he just pointed out the women that he wanted to add to his “Harem” and that was it !…”Woman ! Hear me and obey me! Be a loyal and faithful wife to me and I shall provide for you and your family!”

I heard a story also that the 4 wives and their family(33 children) lived close to each other in the same community. Now you know why you have 10 uncles and aunts from your dad’s side…I wonder if there are brothers and sisters that are unaccounted in our family?…Hmmmmn. My dad never really discussed his father’s extra curricular activities to me. All I can remember is that there was a stream of uncles and aunts and hordes of cousins that used to come by our rented house. I don’t even know my dad’s mom’s(Lola) name. I know his middle or mom’s maiden name is Aguilar. I am really interested to find a photo of the “ballsy” Lolo Rosendo. Proud to be a Lacson!……T2King

Subject: is this legit?

tito king,

remember jim lacson? well he put up a website and had this to say about the origins of the lacson name:

http://lacson.net/lacsonna.html

so which version have you heard?

–patrick

I felt I had to mention that story because so many Filipinos have stopped me, more than I can count, asking me if I’m related to this Lacson or that Lacson. Some have asked if I’m related to the Philippine senator and super cop, Ping Lacson.. Not quite sure and never really bothered to find out. There may be truth to the 4 wives and 33 children story because there’s quite a few Lacson’s out there, and we have more than our fair share of trouble.
