Hi Clayton,

Thanks for visiting my website. I am a former Catholic and have spoken to many catholics and they interpret this passage 2Peter 1:20 exactly as I've stated it. Before we jump around to other passages, how do you understand this 2Peter 1:20 passage? Is it as Catholic apologists claim (e.g. Patrick Madrid) that individuals are not to read the bible for themselves because doing so is interpreting, trying to understand the bible for themselves?

If that's the case I hope you see the inescapable trap that Catholicism provides. You can never question the Catholic church using the Bible because if you do, "you're self-interpreting."

I have read your article but I feel that your accusations are incorrect I am a catholic I do believe that scripture must be read in context; but i am curious if you know how we received what is to be believed as holy scripture. The catholic church was the one to compile and establish what is to be understood as the 27 books of the new testament. The very book that protestants are using to prove that the catholic church wrong is the same book organized by the majestarium. I would like to give you a website address that explains a bit of this matter it is catholic answers.com and the article is explaining 1 Tim 3:15. And how as a church we are to be one by what we believe.

Dear Concerned Christian,

James Macdonald leads a denomination of 69 churches. It is called the Harvest Bible Fellowship. Each church in this denomination operates with the same template. They are all called "churches of life groups." (If you aren't in a life group, then they don't want you in one of their churches.) What is a "life group"? The life groups are all facilitator-led groups. They exist for the purpose of group mind control. Harvest Bible Fellowship is a highly sophisticated mind control operation under a Christian covering.

Who is the director of operations of Harvest Bible Fellowship? Bill Molinari, who also sits on the board of John Macarthur's GTY and Macarthur's international ministry, TMAI. Who else supports this abomination? John Macarthur's TMS advertizes this "church" to their grads and promotes their Harvest Training School to their grads. Several TMS grads are now leading these "churches of life groups" as other TMS grads are enrolled in the Harvest School obligated to plant more of these churches in the future. (When I contacted R Mayhue, the director of TMS, to ask why he advertizes this "church" and its training school to his seminary grads I received no reply.)

John Macarthur considers James Macdonald to be a "close friend" and he fully supports Macdonald's Harvest Fellowship as he annually attends Macdonald's "Straight Up" conferences. "Christians" leading these "Churches of Life Groups" aren't following God's Word; they are actually following the Jewish Kabbalah.

Chief Dregs of Society

Fun Fact: John Macarthur's mentor at Talbot Theological Seminary was an orthodox Jewish Rabbi who often quoted from the Jewish Talmud in his writings. Macarthur has stated that the sole reason he attended this seminary was to be mentored by this rabbi.

David,

I don't have money to buy a ESV, yet I would like to own one that can be utilized at the hospital I work at in Alabama. I'm a staff chaplain.

Would you be so kind as to direct me to a source where I might be able to obtain a hard copy of an ESV?

I have exactly this desk, but its been in storage for some years. I got it out this morning for a new office space and seem to have lost some screws. What I can't do is identify it. Do you remember the name?

I have been away from my faith for a long time, and recently read The Reason for God. I am still having a problem with the exclusivity issue. Do you have any subsequent articles, which may be helpful? Thanks, Sam M.
